History of the World Center for Women’s Studies (World-CWS)


In March 2015 in Colombo, Sri Lanka, during the 1st Annual World Conference on Women’s Studies organized by TIIKM was established the World Center for Women’s Studies (World-CWS) as an institute intended to serve and benefit men and women, academia and organizations that provide service, research, and support to women’s empowerment worldwide. The institute aims at advocacy for global gender equality and at conducting policy oriented research and designing models of practical solutions to women’s empowerment.

The founding members elected the executive committee of the World Center for Women’s Studies, composed of a representative of each country present at the 1st World Conference on Women’s Studies in Sri Lanka.
